European Chronicles: Visual Explorations in an Undiscovered Continent
The first European Prospects publication European Chronicles: Visual Explorations in an Undiscovered Continent was launched in March 2014.
European Prospects: Visual Explorations in an Undiscovered Continent examines questions of identity and experience in an enlarged European Union. Photography and lens-based media are popular and accessible art forms, providing a compelling vehicle by which we represent our own experience and that of society evolving around us. By engaging with a diverse range of photographic artists from across Europe, new light is shed on a plurality of viewpoints, offering a more textured visual representation of the processes of economic and cultural transformation that will help us to imagine a future orientated new European Identity.
Artists included in the book are: Mindaugas Ažušilis, Arnis Balcus, David Barnes, Alicia Bruce, Tina Carr & Annemarie Schöne, John Duncan, Katharina Gaenssler, Julian Germain, Ken Grant, Elin Høyland, Michal Iwanowski, Martin Kollar, Anna Kurpaska, Géraldine Lay, Eva Leitolf, Frederic Lezmi, Søren Lose, Andreas Meichsner, James Morris, Marcella Müller, Krzysytof Pacholak, Jordis Antonia Schlösser, Volker Schrank, Corinne Silva, Laurenz Theinert, Remigijus Treigys, Catrine Val, and Arturas Valiauga.
