Jana Kukaine

Jana Kukaine, MA, is a lecturer at the Art Academy of Latvia, freelance art curator, researcher, art critic and women’s rights activist from Riga. She studied philosophy in University of Latvia and art heritage at Maastricht University (Netherlands). In 2016 she published a book “Lovely Mothers. Woman. Body. Subjectivity” (Riga: Neputns) which elaborates a feminist perspective on motherhood, female body and contemporary art. For A Woman’s Work, she curated the exhibition The Muse of the Greenhouse at Kaunas Photography Gallery in Lithuania.
