Rebecca Vassie Memorial Trust Award 2017

Open calls | 02 October 2017

Applications for the 2017 Rebecca Vassie Memorial Award are now open.
Submissions close Monday, 2 October 2017 at 5pm (UK time).
What we offer: A grant of £1,250 to complete a photography project, support from industry professionals, plus a further £1,150-worth of premier printing at Metro Imaging. We work with the award recipient to organise public and industry exposure of the resulting work, such as exhibition or publication. As well as a winner, we may award one or more runners-up, to whom we will offer support-in-kind, such as networking opportunities and online exhibition. Winner and runners-up receive membership of Shutter Hub.
What we fund: We fund work with emphasis on people and communities; projects that show stories and lives we don’t often see, making visible the everyday, marginalised or oppressed. Our goal is to give emerging talent a platform to showcase new work, which in turn gives voice to unheard human stories.
Who we support: We support early-to-mid career photographers in or from the UK, with multiple credits and excellent portfolios, who are working professionally but not yet earning a full living from this kind of photography. This excludes BA (undergraduate) students and 2017 graduates. The bursary is open to photographers across a range of disciplines, from editorial to fine art. We warmly encourage applicants of all backgrounds and identities.
