Le Bal Award for Young Artists 2017

LE BAL is inaugurating LE BAL AWARD FOR YOUNG ARTISTS with the ADAGP to enable a young photographer/videographer, resident in Europe and under 40 years of age, to expand and complete an already-initiated creative work over a two year period. In 2017, an exhibition at LE BAL will be dedicated to this work, as well as a publication co-edited by LE BAL and Filigranes Editions. Priority will be given to projects falling under the broad spectrum of the documentary image, still and motion, representing diverse world hypotheses, positions, and constructions of human experience.

The laureate will receive a grant of 20,000 euros in order to complete his project and will benefit from support from the team. In 2017, the work carried out by the laureate will be displayed at LE BAL (exhibition, screening, installation) and will be the subject of a publication co-edited by LE BAL and Filigranes Editions.

Application forms have to be sent or dropped no later than 2pm, Monday 23rd November 2015 at LE BAL. A laureate and 3 special mentions will be announced after a preselection of application form and an interview in front of a jury of professionals early December 2015 at LE BAL.

The jury presided by Diane Dufour, director of LE BAL, will be composed by : Hugues Aubry, patron ; Mohamed Bourouissa, artist ; Daniel Buren, artist and board member of the ADAGP ; Alain Fleischer, filmmaker, photographer ; Vincent josse, journalist ; Patrick Le Bescont, Filigranes Editions’ director ; Laurent Le bon, Musée Picasso’s director ; Meret Meyer, board member of the ADAGP.
