The EPF grant is designed to support continuation of a photographer’s personal project. As we all know by now, this body of work may be of either journalistic mission or purely personal artistic imperatives. The primary intent is to support emerging photographers who will become the icons of tomorrow.

The EPF grant is designed to support continuation of a photographer’s personal project. This body of work may be of either journalistic mission or purely personal artistic imperatives. The grant awarded is a $10,000 grant. The EPF grant was initiated by David Alan Harvey in 2008, and is awarded by the Magnum Cultural Foundation. Funding for the EPF comes from private donors.

Anyone can enter the EPF Grant, there are no age restrictions… however, it is intended for emerging photographers, who are the icons of tomorrow.

In 2013 four Emerging Photographer Fund grants were awarded: one major to Diana Markosian for her essay My Father The Stranger; three minors to: Iveta Vaivode for her essay Somewhere on Disappearing Path, Oksana Yushko for her essay Balklava: The Lost History and Maciej Pisuk for his essay Under The Skin.
