At a time when ideals are being renovated and the territories of photography expanded, the Festival re-affirms its willingness to launch discussion on the place of faith and hope in society. When the values ​​and dreams go to sleep, the Festival aims to promote reflections on contemporary art and culture, recognizing the importance of photography in this quest.

With 27 years of existence, the Encontros da Imagem XXIV edition of 2014 present an approach to faith and hope. At a time when the contemporary society is undergoing a crisis of values, it was deemed appropriate to undertake a project of reflection around this thematic, whose motto is given by the alternative rock band the Pixies "Where is my mind".

The Festival headquartered at Braga presents a set of activities that promote contemporary photography, strengthened by its exhibition nucleus, that on this edition extends to Porto and Lisbon. The schedule also includes activities aimed at the general public such as projections, street exhibitions and the operation portfolio reviews International Photography Award Emergentes DST 2014.
