Darmstaedter Tage der Fotografie Festival

Darmstaedter Tage der Fotografie festival are celebrating their 8th edition on April 25th to 27th with this year’s theme “Reflection – Aesthetical References”.

Across 10 venues in Darmstadt, there will be a varied programme with exhibtions, presentation of the Merck-Award, talks, lectures, workshops and guided tours along the weekend. And of course, once again we will be joining together with our guests for a dinner and an after show party.

There will be series of 51 artists and photographers from 13 countries shown in 10 exhibition venues: between Museum Künstlerkolonie, Centralstation and Kunsthalle Darmstadt. 

Main Exhibition at Designhaus Darmstadt

The main exhibition will take place at Designhaus Darmstadt, showing 18 internationally known artists whose work refers to aesthetics in photography, painting and history from very different points of view. The wide range of these selected works will reach from classical still life and portraits, fictitious storytelling and exploring the medium photography itself to computer-generated images. Participating artists include Andreas Mühe (D), Michael Reisch (D), Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison (USA), Michel Campeau (CAN), Max de Esteban (ESP), Thomas Freiler (A) and Berndnaut Smilde (NL). Merck-Award Nominees at Museum Künstlerkolonie

More exhibitions are presented at 9 other cultural institutions across the city showing 30 artists, who applied for this year’s Merck-Award and have been selected, the three female photographers nominated for the Award will present their work at Museum Künstlerkolonie (Merck-Award).
